FAQ’s

Who are you guys?

We are The Zeldathon Team. For more information on who we are, check out the team and past events page.

Why are you doing this?

We watched the Mario Marathon Team in 2008 and were quite impressed with how much money they raised, games they played, and fun they had. With that, we figured we could do the same. We have managed many gaming marathons and raised thousands of dollars for various non-profit organization. We like putting video game playing to good use.

Are you guys any good at Zelda or these games?

Yes and no… Although we have played video games for as long as we can remember, we are by no means professional gamers. We are causal fans who have trouble with a game just like anyone else. That is why we practice and why each team member specializes in the game they are playing.

You guys know you aren’t the first to try this, right?

Yes. Thank you for pointing that out. Game marathons have grown in popularity since 2008, around the time when the Zeldathon Team was founded. We are upstanding members of the video game marathon community and we love supporting our fellow gamers out there. It has never been about who can raise the most money, it is always about having fun and doing good.

How do the donations work?

Donations will go straight to the National Children’s Advocacy Center. You can use the ChipIn service on the life side of the home page. Also check out the donation page. You will receive a PayPal receipt through email. Your donations are also tax deductible.

What will you play on?

A couch. Seriously, though, we will play the games on either an original Super Nintendo console, or on the Wii’s virtual console.

Will you guys take any breaks?

We will be taking any and all necessary breaks; bathroom, sleep, food, and general resting. There are enough of us so that we can rest and still have someone with their hands on a controller; game play will be nonstop.

How can I get involved?

Thankie! Basically, we just need help getting the word out there. Tell your friends, your mom, your cousin, and even your cat. Donations are obviously appreciated.

Will you guys ever play Zelda or any of these games again?

Maybe. The reason we play these games is because they are our favorites (for the most part). We haven’t gotten tired of them yet, and there are many marathons in our future. Stay tuned to see what we play next!
